11 months

Where have the 11 months gone?!? Our sweet Faegan is growing up before our eyes!

Everywhere we go we are told we have the sweetest baby and I have to agree. Faegan continues to be a great eater, great sleeper, and all around happy child.

We are still doing two pretty long naps a day, but I think I am going to have to change the morning one to a little later. Faegan has started waking up before six and I think it may have something to do with her rather lengthy naps during the day. Nothing else has really changed - still in size 3 diapers, still nursing, still eating basically the same foods.

I have had the best time seeing results in Faegan's talking and copying what we say. (I know it isn't going to be too long until I am saying that with clenched teeth!) She says mama, dada, buh (for bye), moo, and the latest is hey. She especially likes to say "hey" to her reflection in the mirror. I think she picked this up from me because when I hold her up in the mirror I emphatically say "Hey baby!" and she thinks it is just grand. She also will moo on command when asked what the cows say. She loves the cows and strains her head over the side of her carseat to see them when we are driving down the driveway.

We went to the beach last week and she learned to climb stairs. She also is starting to stand alone.

This child loves to ride on the Rhino and this is often the fix for that in-between afternoon fussy time. She is the driver and won't let anyone tell her otherwise.

Here is the closest picture I have of all 8 teeth. She grinds them and it drives me crazy, but Dr. D says I can't do anything about it. Hopefully she will grow out of this.

Pulling bows out are another favorite past time. This particular night she was acting so shocked to find a bow in her hair. It's funny how she already "plays".

She is still in love with her Daddy, but will lie down in the morning and snuggle for a few glorious minutes with her mommy. Night time has turned in to a fun game of hide and seek after she finishes eating. We call for Ben to come say goodnight and Faegan can hardly stand it she gets so excited when she hears him walking downstairs. We usually hide and she will be so still and quiet until she is ready to reveal her hiding place.

Our sweet girl is growing up too fast! I can't believe she is almost a year old!!!

10 months

Happy 10 months, sweet girl!!!

You are getting bigger and bigger each and every day and we are constantly shaking our heads at you and your funny ways.

You are a full on crawler now and have learned that you can venture around the house beyond your normal play areas. You are also pulling up really well and starting to test letting go.

You have a total of eight teeth, four on top and four on bottom. The two new ones seemed to give you a little trouble, but nothing teething tablets couldn't fix.

You think your daddy is the funniest thing ever. 

Still wearing size 3 diapers and 12-18 month clothes. You discovered your hair bows and ever so slowly reeeach up to try to grab it before I catch you.

We went through a week or so of you not wanting to get in your bed. We have never had any problems with bed time and you are usually thrilled to get in your bed and get your blanket. I think it must have been the teeth because you didn't nurse well either. It always worries me, but I have to remind myself that when you are teething, you really don't eat well.

We are on the same schedule with two naps a day - one at 8 in the morning and the other at 1 in the afternoon. You are still nursing 5 times a day.

You love to play pat a cake, peek-a-boo, and swing in your swing.

9 months

I just love this age! Faegan has started imitating us and we have had the best time learning what she can do. She can stick out her tongue and smack her lips on cue.

Faegan has added some sounds to her vocabulary. For the longest time we just had "mama", but last week (this post is old, so this was just as she turned 9 months) she just started saying "ba ba", "wa wa", "ga ga", and finally "da da". Ben was thrilled!

We finally had that hard headed front tooth push through this week, making a total of six teeth.

We have seen the beginnings of a little temper and impatience. When we are getting our pajamas on after bath, I can tell Faegan to push her arms through the arm holes and if she can't get it through in what she thinks is a timely manner, she gets mad and starts fussing. Heaven forbid we take something away from her that she doesn't need to be eating {ie. newspaper, magazine, dirt on floor, grass} - full out fit will be pitched. My dad will be proud that we have finally taught our baby how to cry.

Books make for yummy treats, and if you aren't paying attention, will have a nice hole in them in no time.

Bath time is scream time. Not the angry scream, the I'm-so-excited-I'm-in-the-bathtub scream.

Still not crawling, but you are trying so hard. You have started pulling up on things and just started being able to stand up all the way when you want to!

We are still in size 3 diapers and wearing 12 month dresses, 18 month bubbles. At our 9 month checkup, you were 19 pounds and 27 inches. That puts you on the 50th percentile for height and weight for your age, 75th weight for height.

She still loves all things food and continue to be a great eater. Our favorites right now are grapes {I have to hold out on these until the end or nothing else gets eaten}, blueberries, good strawberries {she throws away the ones that aren't juicy}, green peas, still loves plums, LOVES yogurt {will eat an entire YoBaby if hungry}, mandarin oranges, all baby food that is green {broccoli, pears, and peas; spinach, pears, peas}, and anything that is on our plate!

You are waking up at 6, napping at 8:15 until around 10, napping again at 1:15 until around 2:30, and bedtime at 7. You drink milk at 7, 10, 1, 4, and 7 with meals in between.

Bedtime routine includes reading a couple of books. You are so sweet and will lie back and listen to Good Night Moon and On The Night You Were Born. One night this week you kissed every page of Good Night Moon. I hold up the books to let you decide what book to read first and you look back and forth at each book until you make your decision. You also will turn those pages with a passion.

I don't know if I have ever mentioned this, but your hands and feet are CONSTANTLY moving. You move your feet in circles all the time.

8 months

These pictures are getting harder and harder to take! Faegan is much more interested in grabbing and chomping on the paper than smiling for silly ol' me.

This has really been such a fun month. Your little personality is shining through and you are smiling and laughing constantly. You still love for your daddy to come upstairs just before bed time and you bounce with excitement when you hear him on the stairs after we have called for him. You love to play peek-a-boo where one of us hides behind the other and peeks around to see you. We are guaranteed to get laughs when we do this.

We did have a first little boo boo and Faegan got a bit of a black eye. She fell over and hit the edge of a board book. She was a trooper though and didn't let it bother her.

I ordered your convertible car seat just before our weekend trip to Georgia. You are still rear facing, but since you have gotten bigger, I don't take the infant carrier out of the car any more. I figured since I was leaving it in the car all the time, it would probably be more comfortable for you to be in your big girl seat. You really have never minded being in your car seat - just the buckling in process.

You still love to eat. We had some issues this month and had to add prunes to your daily diet. This seems to have solved the problem and your are happy once more.

One of your favorite activities is going outside to see the cows, dogs, and chickens. You pump your legs and say "mmmmmm" to every animal we encounter.

This is about as much interest as we have in crawling. You can get up on all fours, but you haven't started rocking back and forth too much.

You are an absolute chunk and a half. We don't realize how roly poly you are until you don't have any clothes on. I love this picture, and I love those rolls!

You are still wearing size 3 diapers and clothes range from 9 months to 18 months. I am buying 18m bubbles for the summer, but the 18m dresses are too long. I just got you some precious little summer sandals in size 2.

You still adore, me, your daddy, and Miss Jessica. It is so much easier to leave in the morning when I see her get excited to see Miss Jessica in the mornings. You also started waving bye bye! I was so happy!


You are still sleeping in all night in your room upstairs. You go down about 7 or 7:30 and wake up around 6:30 or 7. You don't fuss when you wake up, you just wait patiently for someone to come get you out of bed. You also don't fuss when it is time for bed. We have truly been blessed that we can put you down in your bed and you go to sleep on your own. You are still a thumb sucker, but only in your bed.

You also adore your bed, your blanket, and your bumper. You rub either your blanket or your bumpers until you fall asleep.

This is how I found you one night.

We are transitioning from three naps to two. We are trying to have a morning nap around 8:30 and an afternoon nap around 1:30. Usually you will sleep for close to two hours for those naps.

You are such a sweet baby and a joy to us. I thank God every day that he blessed us with you!

seven months

When I reminded Ben that Faegan was now seven months he said, "What? She just turned six months!"

Every day we are amazed by you, sweet Faegan. Your daddy and I both agree that you are just getting so big. Is it possible that we have had you in our lives for seven months?

You are still the most precious thing ever. You grin from ear to ear when I walk in from work and it makes my heart melt. You also grin when your daddy walks in the room. He can pretty much always muster up a smile from you.

We are now proud to have two cute little bottom teeth. They are especially handy for gnawing on your current favorite food, plums.

Your daddy and I crack up every night when we put you down for the night. I have never seen someone so excited to get in their bed. You literally pump your hands and kick your feet with joy that you are getting in your bed. The blanket that I made for you with the minky on the back is a sleep must have. You grasp it with one hand {sometimes both} and suck your left thumb. I have found you several mornings with both thumb in blanket in mouth.

You have just started bouncing up and down in our laps. You used to lock your legs and stand straight as an arrow, but now you bounce up and down with your mouth wide open.

You have always been a very tactile child and love to feel textures. We have a baby einstein book that has animals with different textures on the animals. I was so proud when I showed you how to feel the soft spots on the page and you actually did it!

We are trying to get more on a schedule these days. You are still exclusively breastfed and eating 1-2 meals per day.

6:30-7:00 - Wake/Feeding

8:00 - Nap until next feeding

9:30-10:00 - Feeding

11:00 - Brunch {fruit}

11:30 - Nap {usually about one hour}

1:00 - Feeding

2:00 - Nap {usually about one hour}

3:30-4:00 - Feeding

4:30 - Catnap

5:30 - Supper {Meat, veggies, and fruit}

6:45 - Feeding

7:00 - Bed

I have been stressing myself out a little because I read too much and I thought you were not communicating appropriately for your age. You still say "mama", but usually only when you are upset. You have just recently started "b" sounds. You are also squealing/screaming. I have noticed recently that you do seem to "talk" to us, it is just in "mmmmm" language, inflections and all!

6 months

Every month I write these posts, I can't believe how quickly time goes by, but has it really been a half year that we have had our sweet daughter? We are blessed beyond words to have such a content and happy baby and I think that it is safe to say that all who come in contact with our sweet Faegan adore her.

This month has marked some fun milestones, one in particular that Faegan is very excited about - eating! It deserves a post of its own, but so far we are eating avocados, sweet potatoes, bananas, and pears. I think we love watching you eat as much as you love to eat! (You take after your mommy!)

You also started sitting up! It began with the leaning-over-tummy-squeeze sitting up and has evolved into sitting up properly (with impeccable posture, may I add).

You are so proud of yourself!

Aunt Ash gave you a Topzy Tumbler Fun Park and you love to play with the little ball people. They don't make it very far because you take them off when they are within reach.

You are still pretty serious, but we can cajole a smile of two out of you every now and then.

You weigh about 16 pounds, 9 ounces (50th percentile) and are 25.5 inches long (49th percentile) (75th percentile weight for height). We moved up to size 3 diapers and you are still wearing some 3-6 month sleepers, 6-12 months in babyGap, and some 9 month things. I saved a few new outfits for you and you have just about outgrown them. I have learned my lesson not to save clothes for you! (Don't make fun of me, GA!)

You adore your daddy.

We have noticed your first attempts at attention seeking in the past week. You have this fake cough that you turn on and you think it is hilarious. I put you in your bed for a nap and hear you coughing. When I went to check on you you started cackling and it has been a game ever since. I love that you can crack yourself up!

You are always scrunching your toes. You also rub your feet like your mommy and Gigi.

You babble a little - mostly when you have your hands in your mouth and mostly only mamamama. I know its not really for me, but I enjoy hearing that "ma" sound! You don't have any teeth pushing through yet, but you are constantly chewing on something whether it be a toy, your fingers, my fingers, your clothes - anything and everything is in your mouth!

Happy 6 months, precious angel! We love you so very much!

5 Months

Happy five months, sweet Faegan!

You had a little bit of trouble with your bottles this month and decided you weren't going to take them while I was at work. Grandma Karen kept you and graciously dealt with a hungry baby that only wanted her mama. Miss Jessica has been patiently working with you ever since you changed your mind about them and after four days of fussing with her, you will now take your bottle.

I came home from work last week and started talking to you and you were just cackling. I don't know what you thought was so funny, but only Gigi has been able to get that much noise out of you until now! You love your Gigi and make the funniest noises for her.

Here is a video of you laughing at me. Ignore my annoying voice! I have learned you'll do anything to get those precious laughs and smiles!

You are still wearing size 2 diapers and 6-12 month clothing. Some of your sleepers are 3-6months, but they are getting a little tight in the length. Your little legs are the chunkiest things and I could just eat them up. However, you do seem to be growing into your rolls :)

We are waking up for a feeding at least once a night. I think your teeth are bothering you some. I thought we had some peeking though, but they aren't quite there yet. I don't think it is going to be too much longer because I can see the tell tell yellow line that Gigi told us was the perfect indication of a fast approaching tooth. You got pretty upset a couple of nights when we put you down for bed and I don't know if it was your teeth or you just don't want to miss out on anything. We have started the night time routine of bath around 6, feeding, read a few books, and be in the bed around 7. Most of the time you wake up around 6:30 or 6:45 and take after your mommy and daddy and are super happy when you wake up! You are definitely a morning person.

You still take two good naps in the morning, an nap after lunch, and have started taking a quick cat nap in the afternoon around 4.

On our visit to Georgia for Thanksgiving, we got Blair's exersaucer and you love it. The dog with the crunchy ears is your favorite and you also like to try to put the apple stem in your mouth.

We still are using your bouncer, but your feet are starting to hang off. I don't know what we are going to do when you outgrow it! It is so nice to have a portable seat that we can place you in and you are content. You kick your foot in that bouncer and make yourself bounce. It really is quite funny!

You stopped rolling over for a little while this month, but you started again this week. I think you must have been working on learning something else.

You definitely know who your mommy and daddy are and give us the biggest grins when we get home. We still get wet kisses from you too!

I am beginning to notice an interest in food from you. You will follow whatever it is that I am putting in my mouth and try to reach for it. We are going to start solids this month when I have Christmas break and I think you will love to eat! Your daddy cannot wait to start giving you food!

After bath time with Blair. You love Blair and bath time and especially love taking a bath with Blair!

You are grabbing your little feet all the time now. You can really only reach them when you are lying on your back. I have to work with grabbing little hands when we are trying to get lotion on after bath time!

We love you so much our sweet, sweet, Faegan! You are growing up too fast!
