Two Years

I can't believe it's been two years since this perfect day.

Two years of fun.

Two years adventures.

Two fast, fast years.

They have been the best two years of my life.
Happy Anniversary to my sweet Ben!

Good Times and Girlie Food

Continuing with the wedding (I know these are a little out of order!), we gave Georgia a brunch the day before her wedding and I was lucky enough to have the big responsibility of picking out the menu. I searched blogs, my go to cookbooks, and recipe sites and had some possibilities, but when my favorite time of the month came around, I was drooling. Yes, my favorite time of the month is when I go to my mailbox and I find this:

My Southern Living!

Let me tell you, this month did not disappoint! It is chock full of mouthwatering, girlie recipes. I did not find every recipe we made in there, but the ones we did use were, as always, to die for!

On the menu we had gorgeous frittatas,

Fresh Herb Spoon Rolls, homemade cinnamon rolls made by the one and only Beth, Strawberry and Avocado Spinach Salad, Tomato Pies, and homemade Pecan Coffee Cake. I did a terrible job photographing everything, so here it is all together!

In true Georgia style, we had fresh peaches too! (Which may or may not have made it into a Peach Bellini or two!)

Now, for the best part - dessert! These recipes were all found in this month's Southern Living. These little cuties were fabulous. I don't know if I loved the jars or the cheesecake more, but they were out of this world. I am a huge fan of anything goat cheese, and these Goat Cheese Cheesecakes were super easy to make and who can resist anything in an individual serving dish?!?

Next up, Profiteroles with Coffee Whipped Cream. Homemade whipped cream infused with Kahlua and espresso stuffed in homemade puffs. Drizzled with Hot Fudge. Oh my.

I don't think I have to tell you how wonderful these were!

And finally, Chocolate Truffle Bites (that I forgot to take a picture of). Here they are with the other desserts. These were also super duper quick, easy, and yum-o.

Maureen had everything looking exquisite and a good time was had by all.

We ate overlooking a beautiful golf course.

Mother of the bride, bride, and maid of honor!

We had the best time preparing this fun meal and spending time with the bride before her big day! Thank you, Maureen , for opening your lovely house to some crazy cooks!

Music City!

My dearest friend, Georgia, got married this past weekend and it was absolutely perfect. A few weeks ago, we celebrated with a bachelorette weekend in Nashville. I have been to Nashville once before, but I did not experience the city last time I went. Well, we experienced it this time! It was a blast and if you have never been, pack your bags and go! Who doesn't love a town where you can go downtown and listen to live music 24/7? It was such a fun town and I can't wait to go back and take Ben along with me!

Some of the crew at the yummy breakfast.

Afterward, pedicures all around!

The sweet bride and her new manicure.

Hanging out in Downtown Nashville.

We had lingerie,

and little black books,

and a fabulous dinner at yummy Jimmy Kellys!

What a fun weekend! Congrats, Jo!!

P.S. Look at the beautiful bride and her mom and sis! Gorgeous!!

Dogs and Dogs

As I mentioned before, my mom helped me make over two hundred cookies for my friend, Georgia's, wedding. I was a little worried about getting them all done in a timely manner since my oven in my house is about 1'x1'. Therefore, I did some pro bono catering helping and forced mom into destroying her kitchen in return! Good deal, huh?!?

We made dogs (a Maltese for Georgia's Oliver),

and more dogs (a Labrador for Josh's Buster).

We rolled,

and cut,

and cut,

and cut some more!

See those big pans? Those were key in making two hundred cookies. Where I would have been able to cook two at a time in my tiny oven, we could cook many more in mom's!

And let me return to this picture.
This is what happens when you eat too many cookies.

Your cookie belly gets quite the dusting.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and cookies are decorated, laid out, and ready to be packaged!

And on top of the cake that my mom also made!

We had such a good time doing these and I can't wait for my next cookie adventure!

Happy Birthday Mom!!

Happy, Happy Birthday to the best mom in the entire world!

It is my sweet Mom's birthday today and I am sad I won't be there to celebrate with her. My mom is the most loving and thoughtful person in the world. She puts up with a lot from me and I don't tell her nearly enough how much I appreciate everything she does for me. Over the past couple of weeks, she helped me ice over 200 cookies. Now, that's love!!

I don't know what I would do without you! I love you so much!

I'm back!

I have kind of fallen off the blogger bandwagon, but I really am going to get back on. Our internet was down for a while and I got out of the habit, but I am back and all ready to update frequently! I have been getting some not so nice comments since my last post was about St. Patrick's Day!

So back on the farm, we have had a little excitement that I thought was blogworthy. We have been having TONS of rain. Great for the grass, not so great for our mountainous terrain. We were missing a baby cow (more like a teenager) and we knew something was wrong when the mom was mooing on one area and would not leave. Ben walked around and finally found the cow. In a sink hole. It was huge and I took my camera to the hole and documented the chain of events fabulously. However, I had my aperture wide open and they all look like this:

(That would be a big blank white nothing.)

Thankfully, Ben took a picture of the cow in the hole with his cell phone. It really doesn't do the hole justice because you can't see how deep it is. Ben was able to put his whole body in it and his head was even with the ground.

We had the truck ready to pull the cow out, but thankfully all she needed was a little lift in the rear and she could pull up with her front feet. I am so thankful she or Ben didn't get hurt! She was a tired and hungry little baby!!
